PlayExch App – Download or Use It in Your Browser?
There is no PlayExch app in the Play Store or App Store, and you do not need one. Add the site to your home screen in under a minute, and stay away from APK files passed around in groups.
“Where do I download the PlayExch app?” is one of the first questions new players send us on WhatsApp. The short answer: the PlayExch app is the website itself. It runs in Chrome on Android and Safari on iPhone, and a home-screen icon makes it open like any other app on your phone. There is no file to download, nothing to update, and no permissions to grant. This page explains why there is no store listing, shows exactly what you will see on screen while adding the icon, and spells out what to do if you have already installed an APK that someone forwarded to you.
Is There a PlayExch App in the Play Store or App Store?
No. Google Play and the Apple App Store both have strict rules for real-money betting apps, and in India those rules mean an exchange like ours is not listed in either store. So if you search the Play Store for “PlayExch” and find something with a similar name and a gold logo, it was not published by us. The same goes for any “PlayExch APK” or “PlayExch Pro” file on a download site.
We chose to keep the platform in the browser rather than hand out our own installer, for three reasons:
- Everyone gets the same version. When we fix something, it is fixed for every player the next time they open the page. Nobody is stuck on an old build.
- A browser page cannot read your SMS. Chrome and Safari keep websites inside a sandbox. A website cannot see your messages, contacts or banking apps, whatever it tries.
- It makes fakes easy to spot. Because we never send an installer, any installer that claims to be from PlayExch is fake by definition. That is a simple rule to remember.
Add PlayExch to Your Home Screen
This takes less than a minute and gives you an icon that opens the site directly. Log in first, so the icon opens on your account rather than on a blank page.
Android: Chrome
- Open the site in Chrome using the link our team gave you, and log in.
- Tap the three dots (⋮) at the top right, next to the address bar.
- Tap Add to Home screen. On newer Chrome versions this item may read Install app or open a small box asking you to choose between Install and Create shortcut. Either choice works for our site.
- Edit the name if you want, then tap Add. Some phones show a second box asking you to drag the icon onto a home screen, or to tap Add automatically.
- Find the icon. On many launchers it lands on the last home-screen page, not the first. Long-press it to move it next to your other apps.
On Samsung Internet the steps are similar: tap the menu (≡) at the bottom right, then Add page to, then Home screen.
iPhone: Safari
- Open the site in Safari and log in.
- Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow pointing up. On most iPhones it sits in the bar at the bottom of the screen. If the bar is hidden, tap near the bottom edge once to bring it back.
- Scroll down the list past the row of app icons and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Check the name, then tap Add at the top right.
On recent iOS versions, Chrome on iPhone also shows Add to Home Screen in its share menu. If you cannot see the option in another browser, use Safari for this step. The icon will still work after that.
Once it is set up, tapping the icon opens the site with little or no browser bar, so it looks and feels like an installed app. If you clear your browser's cookies, you will need to log in again inside the icon. Nothing else changes.

An APK is an Android installer file. Fake betting APKs are one of the most common ways that money is stolen from Indian players, and they usually arrive the same way: a message in a Telegram channel or a WhatsApp group saying “new PlayExch app, faster odds, bonus inside”. The file installs, shows a login screen that looks familiar, and asks for a few permissions on the way. Those permissions are the real target.

A genuine betting website needs none of these. Before any of that can happen, Android first makes you allow “install unknown apps” for the app that delivered the file, usually WhatsApp, Telegram, Chrome or your file manager. If a screen asks you to switch that on for a “PlayExch app”, stop there.
Already Installed One? Remove It in This Order
- Turn on airplane mode. This cuts the app off from the internet while you clean up.
- Remove its admin rights if it has them. Go to Settings → Security (or Biometrics and security) → Device admin apps, and turn the suspicious app off. If Uninstall was greyed out, this is usually why.
- Turn off its accessibility access. Settings → Accessibility → Installed apps (or Downloaded apps). Switch off anything you do not recognise.
- Uninstall it. Settings → Apps → tap the app → Uninstall.
- Revoke “install unknown apps”. Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps. Turn it off for WhatsApp, Telegram, Chrome and your file manager. Menu names vary a little by phone brand. Search Settings for “unknown apps” if you cannot find it.
- Run a Play Protect scan. Open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Play Protect → Scan.
- Change your passwords. If you typed your PlayExch login into the fake app, message our support team to reset it. Change your email password, too, and your UPI PIN through your bank's app.
- Check your bank statement. If you see a payment you did not make, call your bank straight away. You can also report it on the national cybercrime helpline, 1930.

Notifications, Data Use and Storage
Notifications. The home-screen icon does not send push alerts, and we do not send odds alerts to your phone. Anything official from us, such as a password reset or a deposit confirmation, comes in your WhatsApp chat with the team. If you get an “alert” with a link from a number you have never chatted with, ignore it.
Data use. Live markets refresh many times a minute, so following a whole innings uses more data than reading normal web pages, and live casino video uses much more than cricket markets. Usage depends on your phone and how long the page stays open, so we do not quote a figure. To see your own number, check Settings → Network (or Connections) → Data usage → Chrome after one match.
Storage. The icon itself takes almost no space. Your browser keeps a small cache to load pages faster. Clearing it is safe, but it logs you out.
If the Home-Screen Icon Stops Working
- It opens a blank or old page: delete the icon, open the site fresh in the browser, log in, and add the icon again.
- It keeps asking you to log in: your browser may be set to clear cookies on exit, or you are in a private tab. Add the icon from a normal tab.
- It opens in the wrong browser: on Android, the icon uses the browser you created it from. Recreate it from Chrome if that is the one you prefer.
- The login itself fails: that is an account issue, not an icon issue. The login help page lists each error and its fix.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I download the PlayExch app from the Play Store?
No. PlayExch is not listed in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Any store listing using our name was not published by us. Use the site in Chrome or Safari and add it to your home screen instead.
Someone sent me a PlayExch APK on Telegram. Is it real?
No. We never send installer files, so any APK claiming to be from PlayExch is fake. Do not open it. If you already installed it, turn on airplane mode, remove its admin and accessibility access, uninstall it, and change your passwords.
Why does Chrome show Install app instead of Add to Home screen?
Newer Chrome versions use different labels for the same feature. Install app, Add to Home screen and Create shortcut all put a PlayExch icon on your home screen. None of them installs an APK.
I cannot find Add to Home Screen on my iPhone.
Open the site in Safari, tap the Share button (the square with an up arrow), and scroll down past the row of app icons. The option is in the list below. If you are using another browser, switch to Safari for this step.
How do I turn off install unknown apps on Android?
Go to Settings, then Apps, then Special app access, then Install unknown apps. Turn it off for WhatsApp, Telegram, Chrome and your file manager. On some phones you can search Settings for unknown apps to find it faster.
Will the PlayExch home-screen icon send me notifications?

Why do I have to log in again inside the home-screen icon?
The icon uses your browser's saved login. If you cleared cookies, used a private tab, or your browser clears data on exit, you will need to log in again. Add the icon from a normal tab after logging in.
