Play Exch – Your First Week on PlayExch
A seven-day plan for new players: one small task a day, from getting your ID to testing your first withdrawal, so you learn how everything works before you put real money at stake.
If you typed Play Exch with a space, you are in the right place. It is the same PlayExch you will find under any spelling. Most people who search that way are about to start, so this page is a plan for your first seven days rather than another explanation of the platform.
The idea is simple. New players tend to do everything on the first evening: get an ID, deposit, bet on a live match, and only later find out how withdrawals or lay liability work. Spread across a week, each step is small and you learn it while the amounts are low. You can move faster if you like, but keep the order. Each day builds on the one before.
The Play Exch Week at a Glance
| Day | Task | Done when |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Get your ID, change the password, set a budget | You can log in with your own password and your budget is written down |
| 2 | Make a small first deposit | The balance shows in your account and you have saved the UTR |
| 3 | Explore markets in a low-stakes match | You have read the rules of one market and watched it suspend and reopen |
| 4 | Place your first back bet | One small back bet is fully matched and visible in Open Bets |
| 5 | Try a lay bet | You checked the liability figure before confirming |
| 6 | Withdraw a small amount | The money has reached your own bank account |
| 7 | Review spending against your budget | You know your net result for the week and have set next week's limit |
Day 1: Get Your ID, Change the Password, Set a Budget
Tap the “Get PlayExch ID” button on this site. It opens a WhatsApp chat with our team. Confirm you are 18 or older, and you will receive a username and a temporary password in the same chat.
- Log in straight away and change the password to one you do not use for email, UPI or banking.
- Save the chat. It is the number you will use for deposits, withdrawals and support later.
- Write down a weekly budget, the amount you are comfortable losing completely, and keep it somewhere you will see it on Day 7.
Do not deposit today. Today is only about getting set up. If anything about the ID is unclear, the PlayExch ID page covers recovery, one-ID-per-player and other common questions.
Day 2: A Small First Deposit and the UTR Habit
Ask the team in the chat for the current payment details and minimum amount. Then deposit a small sum, well under your weekly budget. The point today is to learn the process, not to fund a week of betting.
- Pay from a UPI app or bank account in your own name.
- Find the UTR or reference number on the payment confirmation. It is usually a 12-digit number on UPI receipts.
- Send three things to the chat: the amount, a screenshot, and the UTR.
- Wait for confirmation, then check that the balance appears in your account.
Make sending the UTR a habit from the very first deposit. It is how the team matches your payment to your ID, and a missing UTR is the most common reason a deposit is slow. Only ever pay details given in the official chat, never ones forwarded by someone else.
Day 3: Explore the Markets Without Betting
Pick a match that matters little to you, such as a domestic T20 or a mid-table league game, and spend twenty minutes just watching. No bets today. Look for:
- The market list. Find Match Odds, Bookmaker and the Fancy or Session lines, and notice how each one is laid out.
- The rules. Open the rules for at least one market. They say how it is settled, what happens if the match is shortened by rain, and what happens to bets that are still unmatched.
- Suspensions. Watch a market lock after a wicket or a boundary and then reopen at a new price. Seeing this happen with nothing at stake makes it far less alarming later.
If the two columns of prices look confusing, read the PlayExchange explainer on the price ladder before Day 4. Our exchange basics article is a gentler introduction.
Day 4: Your First Back Bet
Choose a pre-match Match Odds market. Prices move more slowly before the start than during play. Back one side with a stake you would not mind losing: for example, ₹100 at 1.90.
- If that side wins, you get back ₹190: your ₹100 stake plus ₹90 profit.
- If it does not, you lose the ₹100.
After you place it, open Open Bets and check that the whole stake is matched. If part of it is unmatched, that part is not live yet. Leave it, cancel it, or move it to the next price, but make sure you know which.
Day 5: Try a Lay and Read the Liability
A lay bet says something will not happen. The number to watch is the liability, not the stake. Lay a team at 2.40 for a ₹100 stake and your liability is 100 × (2.40 − 1) = ₹140.
| Lay price | Stake | Liability (what you can lose) |
|---|---|---|
| 1.50 | ₹100 | ₹50 |
| 2.40 | ₹100 | ₹140 |
| 5.00 | ₹100 | ₹400 |
| 10.00 | ₹100 | ₹900 |
Keep today's lay at low odds. The table shows why: the same ₹100 stake can put very different amounts at risk. Before you confirm, read the liability shown on the bet slip, then check it again in Open Bets.
Day 6: Test a Small Withdrawal
Before you ever add more money, find out how money comes back out. Request a small withdrawal in the chat and give account details in your own name, ideally the account you deposited from.
- Note the time you asked and the amount.
- If it takes longer than the team said, ask for an update in the same chat. Do not open a new one.
- Never share an OTP or PIN to “release” a payout. No genuine withdrawal needs one.
Once a small amount has arrived safely, you know the route works. The withdrawal guide covers timings and what to do if a payout is stuck.
Day 7: Review Your Spending Against Your Budget
Take out the budget you wrote on Day 1 and work out your real result for the week:
Net result = current balance + total withdrawn − total deposited
Example: you deposited ₹1,500, withdrew ₹500, and have ₹700 left. Your result is 700 + 500 − 1,500 = −₹300. If your budget was ₹2,000, you are well inside it. If the number is worse than you expected, or you went past the budget at any point, set a lower limit for next week. You can also ask our team to set a limit or pause the account.
Then set next week's budget before the week starts, not in the middle of a match.
Habits Worth Keeping After Week One
- Log in only through this site or the link our team sent you. Spotting lookalike sites explains why.
- If you get locked out, see the login help page before you ask for a new ID.
- Keep the UTR for every deposit. The support page lists what to send for each kind of problem.
- Read how we keep accounts safe and which messages you should never answer.
- Read the longer beginner article or the Play Exch spelling article if you want more background.
- Go back to the PlayExch home page for cricket markets, payments and app tips.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Play Exch the same as PlayExch?
Yes. Play Exch with a space is the same PlayExch platform, with the same ID and the same login.
Do I have to follow the plan over seven days?
No. You can do it faster. The order matters more than the timing: set a budget before you deposit, read liability before you lay, and test a small withdrawal before you add more money.
How much should my first deposit be?
A small amount, well below your weekly budget. Ask the team in the chat for the current minimum. The first deposit is for learning how the process works.
Where do I find the UTR number?
It is on the payment confirmation in your UPI or banking app, usually labelled UTR, reference number or transaction ID. Send it to the official chat with the amount and a screenshot.
Why test a withdrawal so early?
So you know the route works and how long it takes before you have more money on the account. It also confirms that the bank details you gave are correct.
How do I work out whether I am up or down for the week?
Add your current balance to everything you withdrew, then subtract everything you deposited. A negative number is what the week cost you. Compare it with the budget you set on Day 1.
